# Strategy Parameters & Presets

## Strategy Parameters & Presets

### What Strategy Parameters Are

Strategy parameters are the settings inside your TradingView strategy that AlgoPro can test.

Examples may include

```
EMA Length
Take Profit
Stop Loss
RSI Length
Volume Filter
ATR Multiplier
Risk Reward
```

The exact parameters depend on the active strategy loaded on your chart.

### Parameter Setup Fields

Each parameter may include:

```
Enabled
Minimum value
Maximum value
Step size
Default value
Priority
```

### Enabled

Only enabled parameters are included in the optimization.

If a parameter is not enabled, AlgoPro will leave it alone.

### Minimum and Maximum

These define the range AlgoPro can test.

Example:

```
Minimum: 10
Maximum: 50
```

### Step Size

Step size controls how much the value changes.

Example:

```
Step: 5
```

This could test:

```
10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50
```

### Default Value

The default value is the starting or reference value for that parameter.

### Priority

Priority helps AlgoPro understand which parameters matter more during certain optimization methods.

Higher-priority settings may receive more attention during improvement-based testing.

### Parameter Presets

Presets let you save your parameter setup and reuse it later.

This is useful when you frequently test the same strategy with the same ranges.

### Download Preset

Use **Download Preset** after setting up your parameters.

The preset can include:

* Enabled parameters
* Ranges
* Steps
* Defaults
* Priorities
* Cycle count

The preset downloads as a `.json` file.

### Upload Preset

Use **Upload Preset** to restore a saved setup.

If the preset contains parameters that are not in the current strategy, AlgoPro may skip those fields.

### Best Practices

Start with realistic ranges.

Instead of:

```
EMA Length: 1 to 500
```

Try:

```
EMA Length: 10 to 100
```

Avoid enabling every parameter at once unless you are intentionally doing a broad search.

A good testing workflow is:

```
Test entries first
Then exits
Then stop loss/take profit
Then filters
Then final refinements
```
